Your surgeon will start by selecting Persona Knee implants that best matches your knee’s anatomy. Then, on the bottom portion of the implant, a small “smart” stem extension is attached. This stem contains sensors that capture information like your range of motion, stride length, walking speed, and step count. Other than this small stem extension, the rest of the knee implants are from the Persona Knee line.
The information collected by Persona IQ allows your physician to remotely monitor your functional progress throughout your recovery. Through the latest implant technology, you’ll have confidence that you’re connected to your healthcare team, every step of the way. There is no GPS component, and there is no location tracking being done at all.
