About Dr. Hoffman
James D. Hoffman, MD, FAAOS is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Partner of South Florida Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Hoffman earned his Medical Degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopedic Surgical Residency and Surgical Residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Hoffman became interested in learning more about anterior approach hip replacement once he recognized the shortcomings of both posterior and lateral approaches to hip replacement procedures. He quickly understood the benefits of this tissue sparing procedure, and he has performed hundreds of very successful hip replacements using the anterior approach.
Dr. Hoffman remains one of a very few orthopedic surgeons in our area who perform anterior approach hip replacement. Dr. Hoffman has been practicing general orthopedics since joining South Florida Orthopedics in 2001 and has been a Partner since 2003. He has served on the Medical Executive Committee for Martin Health Systems and as Attending Team Physician for Martin County District High Schools. Dr. Hoffman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
