About Dr. Hill
Nathaniel H. Hill, MD, FAAOS, is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and Partner of South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Hill earned his Medical Degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He completed a Surgical Internship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, followed by additional internship training and his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Hill is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon with advanced training in the surgical and non-operative treatment of orthopaedic conditions affecting both adults and children. He provides comprehensive orthopaedic care with a particular focus on knee injuries, joint replacement, sports injuries, and shoulder and upper extremity conditions.
Dr. Hill specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of knee conditions, including arthritis, meniscus tears, ligament injuries, fractures, and sports-related injuries. His surgical expertise includes total joint replacement, including outpatient procedures, as well as robotic-assisted knee replacement, offering patients access to modern treatment options designed to support a faster, more comfortable recovery.
In addition to his expertise in knee care, Dr. Hill is an experienced shoulder and upper extremity surgeon. He treats conditions such as rotator cuff injuries, shoulder impingement, and upper extremity fractures. His surgical expertise includes minimally invasive shoulder arthroscopy for rotator cuff pathology when appropriate.
Dr. Hill believes that surgery is not always the best first option. He takes the time to listen carefully to each patient’s concerns, understand their goals, and develop an individualized treatment plan. Depending on the condition, treatment may include physical therapy, activity modification, medications, injections, or other conservative approaches. For appropriate patients, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections may also be considered as part of a non-operative treatment plan.
Whether treating an acute sports injury, chronic arthritis, or a condition requiring joint replacement, Dr. Hill takes a comprehensive approach to orthopaedic care. His goal is to help patients understand their options and choose a treatment plan that fits their needs, lifestyle, and recovery goals.
Dr. Hill provides comprehensive orthopaedic care for knee, shoulder, and upper extremity conditions, helping patients get back to the activities they enjoy and feel better faster. He has been practicing orthopaedic surgery since 2004. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Hill is a national presenter, and his research has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
